Privacy Policy

Effective 20 August 2026

Generals Tactics is a strategy board game for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. The short version: the game needs no account, never asks for your name or email, and everything it collects is anonymous gameplay data used to improve the game.

Information we do not collect

Generals Tactics has no sign-up, login, or user profile. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or any other personally identifying information.

Anonymous gameplay analytics

To understand how the game is played and to balance its AI opponents, the app sends anonymous gameplay events to Google Firebase Analytics. A typical event records the outcome of a game: win or loss, the game mode, the AI difficulty level, the number of turns, and how long the game took.

These events are grouped under a random player identifier that the app generates on first launch and stores in your device's secure Keychain. This identifier is not derived from your Apple ID, device serial number, or any personal information, and we cannot use it to identify you.

Advertising (iOS)

The free version of the game on iOS shows occasional interstitial ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect device information such as the advertising identifier, IP address, and coarse ad-interaction data, as described in Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob's data practices. You can limit ad personalization in your device settings, and purchasing the Remove Ads upgrade disables ads entirely.

In-app purchases

Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. Purchases can be restored on any device signed in to the same Apple ID.

Push notifications

The app registers a push-notification token with Firebase Cloud Messaging so that future versions can offer optional notifications. The app does not currently send you any notifications, and no notification permission prompt is shown.

Game data stays on your device

Your saved games, move history, replays, and personal statistics are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.

In-game assistant

On devices that support Apple Intelligence, the in-game rules assistant processes your questions on-device using Apple's Foundation Models. Your questions are not sent to our servers.

Remote configuration

The app fetches game-tuning settings (for example, AI difficulty parameters) from Firebase Remote Config. Like other Firebase services, this uses an anonymous per-installation identifier to function; it carries no personal information.

Children's privacy

Generals Tactics is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data retention and your choices

Analytics data is retained in aggregate form to guide game improvements. Because the data is keyed only to a random identifier, we generally cannot link it to a specific person. Deleting the app removes the local game data and Keychain identifier from circulation for analytics purposes. If you would like us to delete analytics data associated with your device, contact us and we will do our best to honor the request.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
